A man was arrested for a domestic aggravated assault case where he beat another man with a baseball bat in the city of Norcross.

According to the Norcross Police report, the incident took place last Saturday, Feb. 18, around 4:30 p.m. on the 2100 block of Newbury Road. The Atlanta man had gone to his ex-girlfriend's house to pick up their daughter, and while in the driveway, an argument erupted between the two exes.

Her new boyfriend appeared and told the ex to leave. Angry, the suspect grabbed a metal bat from his car and hit the boyfriend with it, breaking his arm. He also tackled the boyfriend to the ground and bit him on the chest, causing a visible mark with skin and muscle missing, says the report. He was later transported to a local hospital.

The ex-boyfriend then attacked his ex-girlfriend's car with the bat and smashed the driver's side windows and front and back windshields. He finished with taking the bat and breaking the front windows of the house and the ex-girlfriend's laptop.

He fled the scene in his car, and the ex-girlfriend informed Norcross PD on a description of his vehicle. She didn't remember his license plate number, but she told police she believed he lived in Duluth.

Norcross Police then contacted Duluth Police to relay the vehicle description.

According to the Gwinnett Daily Post, a Duluth officer spotted a red Chevy Trail Blazer that appeared to match the ex-girlfriend's description about 1 a.m. The officer approached the vehicle and asked for the man's ID, which matched the name on the police alert.

The Norcross Police report says the ex-boyfriend was arrested that night on an outstanding probation violation warrant and Norcross' warrants.
