A man who became so upset at his dog for making a mess that he allegedly threw it off a second-floor balcony, has been charged with felony cruelty to animals.

Citing a Gwinnett Police incident report, the AJC reported Fidel Cornado-Alvarez is accused of throwing the dog from a height of around 14 feet at the Huntington Ridge Apartments on Windsor Woods Lane near Norcross.  The alleged crime happened on Sunday, March 2.

This is an area south of Buford Highway and west of Jimmy Carter Boulevard near the city boundaries of Peachtree Corners and Norcross. The incident was apparently witnessed by neighbors.

The dog was injured with either broken back leg or hip, according to the newspaper.

Stupid jerk! I wish we could take every one of these a-holes who harms children and animals and throw THEM off a deck/bridge/very tall building. I'm glad this fool is getting punished but I think he should face a long jail sentence.

He needs to be prosecuted, pay for the medical expenses and treatment for this animal's recovery, pay for the boarding fees to keep this animal in whatever shelter is caring for it, attend anger management training as this was a violent and costly response to the normal stressors associated with animal ownership, be on probation post incarceration, and be barred from future pet ownership.

And....apologize to the neighbors who witnessed this atrocity, especially if any were children....
