Kitchen Fire at Allround Suites Results in One Injury

The smoke inhalation injury is described as non-life threatening.

Firefighters were dispatched to a small kitchenette fire at 8:40 p.m. last night at an extended-stay hotel on Medlock Bridge, just outside the city limits of Norcross. The fire resulted in one smoke inhalation injury.

The flames were contained to the stove and microwave area but did shoot through the roof, causing what firefighters described as minor damage to the single unit of the Allround Suites at 3175 Medlock Bridge Rd.

When firefighters arrived at the scene at 8:43 p.m., they immediately made their way to the second floor room where the fire originated. A man was found conscious but only semi-alert, suffering from smoke inhalation.

He was transferred to Gwinnett Medical Center. Firefighters say that his injuries were not life threatening.
