Inside the Police Reports: You Snooze, You Lose $1,200

A man claims that someone stole the money from him while he was sleeping in unincorporated Norcross.

A Norcross-area man claims that someone took $1,200 from him while he was sleeping on a trip from Virginia.

According to the Gwinnett County Police report, the 24-year-old told police that he believes the incident occurred Oct. 20. While on a trip with his sister and the suspect from Virginia, he went to sleep that Saturday with $1,200 in his pocket.

He woke up the next morning and the money was gone, he said. He believes the suspect brought people to the apartment while he was sleeping and they would steal the money.

He had already given the two women $500 for gas and food, he added.

The victim doesn't have any proof that she stole it, but he wanted a police report to document the loss.
