Homeowner Shoots Intruder in Norcross, Suspect Dropped Off at Hospital

The homeowner was not injured during the incident.

Gwinnett County police are investigating a Thursday morning home invasion in unincorporated Norcross, where one suspect was shot by the homeowner.

The incident happened about 11 a.m. at the 4700 block of Greenway Road. At the time, according to a press release, the homeowner called 911 and told dispatchers that two, black men were attempted to break in.

The press release continues with this statement:

"A few minutes later, while the homeowner was still on the phone with 911, one of the suspects gained entry into the home by forcing a window open.  The homeowner retrieved a handgun and fired at the suspect, striking him.

"Both suspects retreated to a black passenger car and fled the scene.  They were gone by the time officers arrived.  The homeowner was not injured and is not facing charges at this time."

Around 11:30 a.m., a man matching the description of one of the suspects arrived at the Gwinnett Medical Center in Duluth with a gunshot wound. He was later identified as 22-year-old Tajh Guillont, police said.

"The suspect was taken to surgery in serious condition and will remain under guard," the press release stated. "His condition is not known at this time."

A second suspect was seen dropping Guillont off at the hospital, but he fled in a black vehicle before police arrive, according to the Gwinnett County police. Duluth Police located the car in an apartment complex nearby.

Charges against Guillont have not yet been filed. And, the second suspect has not been located or identified. See attached surveillance photos of the suspect.

Anyone encountering this suspect should call 911. Anyone with information is asked to call GCPD detectives at 770-513-5300 or Crime Stoppers at 404-577-TIPS (8477).
