Hertz Offering $25,000 Reward in Duluth Homicide

Monique Marlowe was shot while cleaning a car behind the Hertz on Satellite Boulevard in unincorporated Duluth.

 

Hertz has put up a $25,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person responsible for the murder of one of its employees, Monique Marlowe, according to a media update issued by the Gwinnett County Police Department.

The Gwinnett Police Department Homicide Unit is continuing to investigate the homicide, which occurred between 5 and 5:30 p.m. Sept. 21 at the Hertz Rent-A-Car at 3492 Satellite Blvd. in unincorporated Duluth.

Marlowe, 24, was an employee of Hertz and was cleaning a car in the back of the business when she was killed. She was approached by a young black male wearing a light blue shirt. For unknown reasons, the suspect shot her once and immediately left the area.

She was transported to Gwinnett Medical Center, but was later pronounced dead.

Marlow was able to give police a description of the shooter before being taken to the hospital.

Since the incident took place, the homicide unit has been working around the clock following up on all leads, Cpl. Jake Smith reported.

Based on the time of day and location, investigators believe that someone in the area of the adjacent Gwinnett County Transit bus pick-up/drop-off hub may have witnessed the incident.
