GCPD Named DUI Agency of the Year

Gwinnett takes top honors in statewide recognition by Mother's Against Drunk Drivers.

Mother’s Against Drunk Drivers (M.A.D.D.) has named the Gwinnett County Police Department DUI Task Force as the 2010 Statewide DUI Agency of the Year.

The task force was presented with the award at the seventh annual Golden Shield banquet in Atlanta.

Several officers were honored for their individual efforts based on the number of DUI arrests made in the previous year. Bronze pins are awarded to those making 25-49 DUI arrests, silver pins are given to officers who make 50-99 DUI arrests, gold pins are for those officers who made 100-149 DUI arrests and red pins are awarded to officers who made more than 150 DUI arrests in the previous year.

Several Gwinnett County Police Officers were awarded pins:

  • Corporal M.J. Blute #947 Red Pin (289 DUI arrests)
  • Corporal C.A. Deming #982 Red Pin (173 DUI arrests)
  • Officer A.M. Kingsley #920 Red Pin (169 DUI arrests)
  • Officer W.M. Rundles #1186 Red Pin (167 DUI arrests)
  • Officer J.T. Tait #1056 Gold Pin (109 DUI arrests)
  • Officer M.K. Wyman #1033 Silver Pin (88 DUI arrests)
  • Officer S.C. Mycols #1222 Silver Pin (69 DUI arrests
  • Officer J.N. Cyphers #1207 Silver Pin (61 DUI arrests)
