Firefighters Respond to Basement Fire at Norcross Home

No injuries were reported; the fire is under investigation.

Gwinnett Fire is investigating an early morning fire that started in the basement of a single-story home in unincorporated Norcross.

Fire department spokesman Capt. Tommy Rutledge said in an emailed report that firefighters responded at 1:57 a.m. Saturday to a house fire Saturday morning on the 6800 block of Windfaire Drive. Rutledge said the owners found the house filled with smoke when they returned home and reported the emergency.

The fire caused part of the floor to collapse, but there were no injuries.
