Early Morning Fire at Norcross Auto Max

There was no report of injuries.

From a Gwinnett County Fire press release, regarding incident at 5506 Buford Highway, Norcross:

"Gwinnett County Fire Units were called out to a business fire at the above address. Caller to the 911 dispatch center stated that they saw smoke and fire coming from the business and heard explosions inside.Β 

"Crews arriving to the scene found fire showing from the end of the service area of the auto dealership. Firefighters deployed several firefighting hose lines to attack the fire from outside. The nature of the business and the heavy fire conditions warranted the exterior fire attack.

"The fire was quickly overcome and crews entered the structure to check for hot spots and to complete primary and secondary searches. It has not been definitely determined what caused the explosions but products used in the service area are the probable cause.

"There was no report of injuries. The service area of the business has heavy fire damage. A Gwinnett Arson investigator has been called to the scene for cause determination. Currently the incident is undetermined and under investigation. Further information will be released when available."
