Two adults have been displaced because of a fire that caused heavy damage to their duplex home in unincorporated Norcross.
According to Gwinnett County Fire spokesman Colin Rhoden, a neighbor on the 5400 block of Bishops Circle reported the fire Nov. 7 at 1:34 a.m. Firefighters arrived on the scene and found heavy smoke and fire coming from the duplex.
Firefighters attempted to extinguish the flames from the inside, and they also checked the next-door neighbor's home for any fire extension.
Although there were heavy fire conditions, crews were able to extinguish the fire, check all areas and made sure there weren't any fire not put out.
The fire and smoke caused heavy damage to the interior and contents of the home, and it burned through to the outside. Part of the roof was affected.
No injuries were reported, but two adults are displaced because of the fire.
The fire is undetermined and under investigation.
