Debris Fire Off Kingston Court in Norcross Area

The fire is producing a lot of smoke.

Firefighters are currently at the scene of a debris fire in the Norcross area. A large pile of debris at Waste Management recycling center is on fire, according to a Gwinnett Fire Dept release. 

Ground-up tree stumps, construction waste and heavy timbers are all in the smoldering fire at the 3000 block of Kingston Court in unincorported Norcross. 

Emergency crews were dispatched at 9:30 a.m. "The blaze is contained at this time and is generating a considerable amount of smoke in the area," according to Cpt. Tommy Rutledge.

The blaze may take several hours to put out completely, according to the release. Currently, two fire engines and one ladder truck are on the scene.
