Boost Mobile Robbed at Gunpoint

The man allegedly robbed the cell phone store last Saturday.

The  store in Norcross was robbed at gunpoint last Saturday morning.

According to the police report, the 22-year-old employee told Norcross Police that a black male walked into the cell phone store, located at 5955 Jimmy Carter Boulevard in the City of Norcross right before noon.

The employee was behind the counter and on her cell phone when she asked him if he needed any help. He told her he wanted to look at phone cases, so she pulled out some cases out.

She said she became nervous when he wouldn't touch any of them, so she picked up the store phone to have in her hand. When she grabbed the phone, the man ripped off a small swinging door from the wall, which had separated the counter from the customers.

He then grabbed her arm and stuck a black pistol into her side while forcing her over to the cash register. He took all the cash in the register and placed the employee in the store bathroom, where he told her to stay. She called police once she heard him leave the store shortly after.

The store owner arrived at the scene five minutes after the incident and told police that his Boost Mobile store on Cruse Road in Lawrenceville was also robbed just two days ago. He said the employee there gave the same description of the suspect: He was looking at phone cases, carried a black pistol and forced the victim into the store bathroom.

The victim described the man as a black male, about 5'5", weighing around 150 pounds and wearing a black baseball cap and a black hooded sweatshirt. The owner told police that he didn't have surveillance cameras installed yet.
