Jewelry Store Robbed at Gunpoint

An armed robbery was reported at New Jewelers in the Norcross area earlier this month.

An armed robbery was reported at New Jewelers in the Norcross area earlier this month.

According to the surveillance tape and the Gwinnett County police report, two suspects went into the 1264 Beaver Ruin Road business on Oct. 5 around 6:20 p.m. One of the suspects ordered everyone to get down while pointing a pistol at the employee, 51.

There were two items reported stolen: one pink topaz stone with a half-carat diamond, worth $3,600; and a nugget diamond and gold ring with multiple stones, worth $2,000. The victim told police that she believes one of the suspects had come in days before to observe their inventory.

The two suspects fleed the store on foot.

The store's surveillance video depicts the two suspects having a slim build and being in their late teens or early twenties. From the video, officers were able to conclude that the black male with the firearms is 5'8" and had a white T-shirt wrapped around his head. The other suspect is 6'0" and had a black baseball cap and a camo ski mask, also observed in the video. The victim said neither suspect had an accent when they spoke.

A mask was recovered near the crime scene, in addition to a bag that one of the suspects had. Fingerprints were also collected at the scene. The report has no suspects currently listed.
