One more day, one more Waffle House robbed.

Norcross Police say that 18 robberies have occurred since July 27 that could be linked to the same two men. The hold-ups cover 12 different police jurisdictions, including six metro Atlanta counties, La Grange, Ga. and Auburn, Ala.

The agencies are working closely together, with the Norcross Police Department serving as a central agency for compiling data, according to Sgt. Bill Grogan of the Norcross PD. A multi-jurisdictional meeting is planned for early next week, he said.

A Gwinnett Police incident report stated that the latest robbery occurred between 5:15 and 5:30 a.m.

Officer S.D. Martin was called to the Waffle House while the robbery was still in progress, according to the report. Two employees were camped out on the roof when he arrived, afraid to reenter the store.

One employee said he was taking a break and talking on a cell phone, when a man approached him with a T-shirt tied around his face. The robber apparently pulled out a black gun, saying: “You better run before I kill you.” The employee ran inside to warn a co-worker, and both fled to the roof of the building.

Police were able to review surveillance footage of two black men entering the building. The suspects were not able to open the register, but did make off with an employee’s laptop.

One of the men is described as wearing a green shirt and camouflage hat. He was wearing black shorts and black shoes with white trim. The other suspect was described in the report as wearing a red cap with a black shirt pulled over his face.

Waffle House is now offering a $2,500 reward for information that leads to an arrest or conviction. If the suspects are seen, police ask that the public call 911. Anyone with tips should call the Norcross PD tip line at 770-448-6457.
