The Peachtree Corners Rotary Club welcomes Chris Sweigart

This coming Monday, we are excited to welcome our third guest speaker, Chris Sweigart, for our August series: Media Channels, Now and the Future.

The Club welcomes those who are interested in becoming a Rotarian, as well as Rotarians from other local clubs, to attend the meeting this Monday, August 19th. The Club also encourages its members to bring a guest or to bring their children who have an interest in journalism.

We're happy to extend the member lunch fee of $15 to visitors; make sure to RSVP so we can provide the caterer with a visitor count for each meeting.

Please RSVP by emailing our Membership Chair, Sam Evans, at: sevans@legacyplangroup.com

Without further ado, I'll introduce our guest...

He is a true multimedia journalist, with experience in television, online publishing and social media.

Chris previously worked as the Manager of Digital Content for 11Alive News, overseeing news content on the station’s digital platforms — including websites, mobile apps and social media.

Chris joined 11Alive as an 11Alive.com Web Producer in October 2007. During his time with 11Alive, he has worked as a field reporter and as the newsroom’s Director of Social Media.

He was embedded with the Army’s 3rd Brigade, 3rd Infantry Division, based out of Fort Benning. Aside from covering Fort Benning and the Army, he also covered city politics. Chris often contributed articles for WRBL’s newspaper partner, The Opelika-Auburn News.

After two years as a reporter at WRBL, Chris was promoted to Web Site Coordinator for WRBL.com and OANow.com. Prior to his work in Columbus, Chris worked for FalconsVision as an Associate Producer/Reporter, covering the Atlanta Falcons for the 2003 season.

Chris graduated from Oglethorpe University in Atlanta with a degree in Politics. He is still active in the Atlanta Area Alumni Association for his fraternity, Delta Sigma Phi.

Chris grew up in Duluth, Georgia and attended Duluth High School.
