Worcestershire Pecans

 

As we sail into the holidays, hostess gift ideas abound. Worcestershire Pecans are so easy to make and are perfect to give as a hostess gift. There are so many choices in pretty packaging and everyone appreciates something homemade. These pecans are a family favorite that I make year after year.

 

Worcestershire Pecans

1/3 c butter, melted

1 T Worcestershire sauce

½ t Tabasco

¼ t freshly ground black pepper

1 t salt

1 pound pecan halves

 

Preheat the oven to 300 degrees. Whisk the melted butter with the next 4 ingredients in a large bowl. Add the pecans and toss with a wooden spoon until all are coated well. Spread out on a rimmed baking sheet. Bake for 10 minutes and then stir. Bake 5 minutes and stir again. Bake 5 minutes and remove from oven. Spread the pecans on a wire rack until cooled and dry. Do not put them on a paper towel because it will absorb the butter. Store the pecans in an airtight container.

If folks are going to make this and give it as a gift, it might be a good idea to also gift some Vin Santo or Passito di Panelleria or some Dry Sherry with it. These wines are just right for your recipe. None of them are overly sweet either, just rich.
