Who is Leading in the Presidential Polls?

Here are the latest Gallup poll results on the race between President Barack Obama and Governor Mitt Romney.

If history is to repeat itself, then the voters that put President Barack Obama in the White House are likely to be the ones who will keep him there for another four years.

According to the latest Gallup poll, the "2012 electorate looks like 2008 ... the key elements of President Obama's electoral coalition, such as racial minorities, women, young adults, and postgraduates will likely turn out at rates similar to those in 2008."

The number of non-white voters has risen due to the growth of that segment of the population over the past decade. Gallup reports that "the percentage of non-white voters, now 20 percent, has risen significantly since 2004 (15 percent).

The report says the outcome of the election may "hinge more on how groups vote rather than to what extent they will vote." There has been a shift with most groups currently less likely to support Obama but the president's seven-point margin in the 2008 election gives him breathing room to still win the election.

The Gallup poll, dated Oct. 26, 2012, shows President Obama has lost more support with Gov. Mitt Romney leading 50 percent to Obama's 47 percent.

That statistic came after Gallup posed the question in a telephone survey of approximately 2,700 likely voters. Despite Romney's slight lead, Gallup maintains its data points to Obama.

I'm a democrat. Always have been and I've always voted without thinking twice. But Obama scares me.. I think too many people are voting based on personal preference and advertisement than actual knowledge.. Which is even scarier.. Has anyone seen the movie Idiocracy? I know it's supposed to be a funny movie and most of it is obsurd but the underlying message seems to fit our symptoms... I've been reading a bit about china.. Has anyone else? Forget healthcare and taxes and everything and think about the security of our country now. We allowed outsourcing of our jobs, which in turn strengthens others economies, great right? Except no one seems to realize that the jobs that were outsourced were mainly the middle and lower class jobs..we traded our own people's job security to strengthen what may be our biggest enemy.. China. And now it seems that all that money is being put to good use buying up our oil fields, our land. They don't just own a large portion of our national debt, but if we allow it, large part of OUR natural resources as well. What happens when we finally want to tap in to our reserves but can't because its owned by China? And I know it doesn't make local headline news anywhere but is anyone aware that china wants to basically buy and build a 50 square mile radius city in Idaho?! Unfortunately I believe Obama will support this move to "better our economy" but do we really want communists setting up city' in our country? Sounds like a slow invasion to me.

Please check Mitt Romney record in Massachusetts he did not work with democrats for health care that was passed because of Ted Kennedy not Mitt Romney. Do not believe that he change the school system it was worse when he started and the same when he left read about all the times he vetoed bills that democrats tries to pass. There is very few people that live in this state that will say the are voting for Mitt Romney that should give everyone something to think about why isn't the state he was governor is not backing him if he was so good. In this state there are very few signs and no pumper sticker with Mitt Romney name on it. If you think that he is going to do better I have a bridge in Massachusetts I would like to sell you.

I was born and raised in Detroit, MI and I am sure Mitt Romney's dad is rolling over in his grave the way his son abandoned the auto industry, considering at one time, he was the President of American Motors. It was the auto industry that paved the way that has afforded Mitt the privlidged life he has come to know. Yes, the man truly has Romnesia, or just ungrateful. Take your PICK!!!!!

"Obamacare" was invented by Richard Nixon and promoted by the Libertarian think tank, the Cato Institute, that's why Romney thought it Republican enough to become "Romneycare".
