Is Norcross Unsafe?

Today in 2 separate cases, both within a short walk of my house - a shoot out at a seafood restaurant and over $100k in counterfeit cash at a nearby motel. I am fed up with the state of my part of Norcross. Within 1/4 mile of my house across Buford Highway you can be in a seemingly perfect little town - even the set of the TV show Resurrection. Within 1/4 mile the other way, you can mistakenly think you've traveled to an underdeveloped and criminally wrank country where English is a second or even third language. I no longer feel safe going to the gas station at the entrance of my neighborhood after dark after being approached several times by beggars and extended stay motel "residents". And while typing this, a report just came on the news that a man robbed the Norcross Waffle House with a pitchfork. Seriously??Downtown Norcross is beautiful. But what are city officials doing with the rest of our little city on the other side of the tracks?
