Norcross Heroes Treated to Free Show at Lionheart

Lionheart will present Seussical Jr. for local first responders and staff in an all-student production on July 18.

Norcross firefighters, police officers, EMTs and military personnel can treat their families to a free preview of “Seussical Jr.,” Lionheart Theatre Company’s summer children’s show, on July 18 at 7:30 p.m. The show opens to the general public are July 19 and runs through July 21.

Produced and performed entirely by children and teens,” Seussical” is about the musical adventures of Horton the Elephant and the tiny Who’s of Whoville, complete with Gertrude McFuzz, Amazing Maizey, The Sour Kangaroo, and of course The Cat in the Hat.

“The cast is really pumped to do this show,” said Sam Casey, the 16-year-old director. “We want these families to know how much we appreciate them.”

The offer is open to Heroes who live or work in Norcross as first responder firefighters, police or EMTs, support staff, as well as active duty or 20-year retired military.

 Tickets are limited and reservations are required. To make reservations, the service member must email Lionheart at reservations@lionhearttheatre.org. include “Heroes” in the subject area and include name, workplace (duty station), number of seats, and phone number. Reservations must be made by July 12.  For inquiries, call the box office at 678-938-8518.

 Tickets for the shows July 19-20 are $10 and are available on www.lionhearttheatre.org. The Lionheart box office is open Thursday evenings from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

 Lionheart is a non-profit organization that is run exclusively by volunteers.  The theater produces at least seven main-stage plays, children’s plays, story times, staged readings for playwrights, youth drama camps and drama classes for children and adults.
