Lionheart Performing Arts Centre’s Open House Grand Opening this Weekend
Centre to host acting, dance and music classes
The Lionheart Performing Arts Centre will celebrate its grand opening with an open house this Saturday 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The new facility is located at 125 Lawrenceville Street, Norcross, between the Norcross City Hall and the Fire Station.
Lionheart’s Performing Arts Centre will offer a variety of classes and events throughout the year including acting, voice, dance, improv, play writing, audition techniques and Mystery Dinner Theatres. The Centre is made possible through the generous support of Norcross-based jewelry designer Anna Balkan and the Norcross Downtown Development Association.
The facility was once Norcross’ cotton gin mill and also served as a doctor’s office, furniture store and residence. Lionheart Theatre Company will continue to offer a full season of shows at its 10 College Street theatre.
“This is the next big step in Lionheart’s growth,” said Centre Director Jason Caldwell. “This space will be buzzing day and night with homeschoolers, playwrights, actors and special events. We’re going to be the artistic pride of Norcross and North Metro Atlanta.”
