Where are the birthers?

As we lurch closer to another presidential election, something interesting has caught my eye. It is assumed by many that Hillary Clinton will be the Democratic nominee. However, on the Republican side, there is a long list of potential candidates. One of these candidates is Rafael Edward "Ted" Cruz. Mr. Cruz was born in Canada. This a fact, yet I have heard nothing, not one peep from the birthers about his eligibility to run for the office. Why is that? They, the birthers, have claimed their refusal to recognize President Obama stems from their love of country and respect for the constitution. If this is true, why are they silent in regards to Mr. Cruz? This blatant hypocrisy makes the tea party look like partisan bigots. If they and the greater Republican party want to appeal to a broader electorate then their gerrymandered districts, they need to be consistent with their actions. Using their logic and previous arguments against President Obama, Rafael Edward Cruz is a foreign born candidate and, therefore, is ineligible to hold the office of the presidency. How can they say anything otherwise?
