Carriage Rides, Vow Renewals for Valentine's

Downtown is offering more than just good food and drinks for next Tuesday.

Still need something planned for Valentine's Day? Want to do something aside from the usual wine and dine?

Downtown Norcross is following its tradition of horse-drawn carriages on the day of love, but it's also added vow renewals to this year's activities.

"I got a phone call a couple of weeks ago from a guy who says he's got 30 couples who always do Valentine's Day together," said Downtown Manager Tixie Fowler. "They know about the carriage rides, so he asked me if there was something else we could do."

And then came the idea for vow renewals. Both activities are free, and guests can take advantage of them from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Carriage rides will begin in front of and travel down Skin Alley, and the "I dos" will be renewed in front of . For more details, check out aplacetoimagine.com.

As for something to eat, the downtown restaurants (, , ... the list goes on!) will have their usual menus and possibly other goodies such as champagne or a special dessert. Reservations are highly encouraged for Valentine's Day because tables tend to fill quickly.
