Lion Tales Story Time at Lionheart Theatre

MONTHLY STORYTELLING ADVENTURES AT THE LIONHEART KICK OFF THIS MONTH
Lion’s Tales Aimed at Encouraging Kids’ Imaginations

Norcross, GA (February 11, 2013) - Lionheart Theatre Company is thrilled to announce a new
ongoing event for the littlest theatre fans – Lion’s Tales: Storytelling with Bill and Jill will take
place every third Saturday from 10 a.m. to noon, starting on February 16. Snacks will be provided
and kids who attend will get to participate in a fun craft project to take home.

Each Saturday, Lion’s Tales will feature a different story. The series kicks off with “The Mitten,” a
Ukrainian folk tale about a little boy named Nicky who goes out to play in the snow and loses his
mitten. Children will love hearing about the wild and wooly collection of animals that create a new
use for Nicky’s mitten! After the story, kids will make Pine Cone Bird Feeders to hang up at home.

Storytellers and Norcross residents Jill Swenson and Bill Brown have been married for 32 years
and just recently ventured into the realm of tandem storytelling. They use voices and physical
movement to convey stories in a fun and engaging way, encouraging children to be involved in
the story as it unfolds. They are members of the Southern Order of Storytellers, an organization
dedicated to reestablishing storytelling as an integral form of entertainment in the Southeast.

“My love of storytelling comes from my 28 years as a school teacher,” says Jill. “Telling stories in
an animated way helps kids realize that they can find stories on their own; it helps build a love of
reading.”

Admission to Lion’s Tales is just $2 per person at the door (cash or check only); proceeds will be
split between the Lionheart Theatre Company and a local charity, which will change each month.
For February, the charity will be the Norcross Cooperative Ministry.

RSVP on the Lionheart’s website at www.lionhearttheatre.org or by calling the box office at 678-
