Ed Gilliam exhibit now at UNG

Work by Ed Gilliam will be featured at UNG's Bob Owens Art
Gallery on the Dahlonega Campus this month. The clay work will be on display
until Dec. 27; however, a reception for Gilliam will be held in Hoag Student
Center on Oct. 29 at 5 p.m.

Gilliam explores a broad range of subjects on his signature
clay discs, and employs text and other elements to yield richly-crafted symbolic
and evocative statement pieces. He breaches topics from mythology and politics
to nature and history. The pieces in the Gilliam exhibit are from the Thomas E.
Scanlin Collection.

UNG's Department of Visual Arts and has a strong focus on
promoting and connecting students with Appalachian artists. For more
