Are Coal and Tobacco Industries Blocking a vote on Energy Consumers Relief Act ?

Honestly, I'm no expert on anything the EPA does. I think most of us would agree, however, that more red tape in congress is not what we need. So backers of HR 1582 which passed the house and now in the Senate want more transparency -- they want all of us to know exactly what studies tell the EPA and what might cost more than $1 billion to put into place. Opponents like the Coal and Tobacco Industries say it will just add more red tape that the EPA has to face.

So, while everyone else dukes it out on this, we wait for some kind of action to be taken in D.C. on something.

Hon. Rob Woodall will be here Friday to address the business people of the tri-city area (Berkeley Lake, Norcross & Peachtree Corners) at the Southwest Gwinnett Chamber of Commerce breakfast. It will be at the Hilton starting at 7:30 with a big breakfast for the $15 attendee fee.

I wonder if the bill will die in the Senate because of the powerful two industries that oppose it and their powerful lobbyists. Or if it will die in the Senate because it is the wrong approach?

I'll be there for many reasons. I'm a proud member. Another is I wonder what issues Rob will bring us up-to-date on. I also wonder if there will be some tough questions posed to him by any of the attendees this Friday.

Share your opinion, please, without calling me names. If you can't be there Friday, what would you want Rob to address?
