What's Up This Week in Norcross

From the farmers market to the movies, here are five things to look forward to during the week of July 22.

Wondering what's going on in Norcross this week? Check out the list below. 

1. Mondays at the Movies, July 22: Twice a month, the city of Norcross holds a free movie in the Norcross Community Center, located at 10 College Street. At 1:30 p.m. Monday, viewers can watch "Identity Thief" starring Jason Bateman and Melissa McCarthy. The film was shot in the metro Atlanta area. 

2. Special-Called Meeting, Policy Work Session for Monday, July 22: 
From the old Rectory to the old Cotton Gin, to the millage rate to the hotel/motel fund for city events, the Norcross City Council and Mayor Bucky Johnson is reviewing a lengthy list of hot issues. Read more about it here.

3. Whistle Stop Farmers Market for Tuesday, July 23: Every Tuesday is the Whistle Stop Farmers Market, filled with more than 30 vendors that offer everything from cheese and crepes to popsicles and pastas. It's held from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. in Thrasher Park

4. Buskers in Downtown Norcross for Saturday, July 27: Street performers such as jugglers and stilt are expected to come alive again in Historic Downtown Norcross. If you haven't seen these "buskers" perform yet, get a glimpse of them here. The fun is expected to begin at 7:30 p.m. and run until 9:30 p.m. 

5. Movies in the Park for Saturday, July 27: Norcross is getting a second dose of movies with a viewing of "The Croods," an animated family film about a caveman family starring Emma Stone, Nicolas Cage and Ryan Reynolds. The event is sponsored by B98.5 FM and begins at dusk on Saturday in Lillian Webb Park.
