Readers' Choice Winner: Norcross First UMC Preschool

Best Preschool in the Norcross area goes to Norcross First UMC Preschool.

Closing Patch's first month of the "Best of Readers' Choice" series, we asked readers to vote for their .

The polls are closed and the votes are in, and the winner is: Norcross First United Methodist Church Preschoolο»Ώ.

Norcross First UMC Preschool has been serving the Norcross area for more than 50 years. Its staff, consisting of 10 long-term members, aims to provide age-appropriate programs to help students become happy, responsible and cooperative children. The learning center is play-centered, meaning that it utilizes multisensory activities such as Legos and drawing to help build every child's five senses.

"We feel like we provide a very loving, nuturing environment and give the children what they need to be ready for kindergarten," Martha McDermott, who's been director of the preschool for 10 years and also a member of the church for 24 years.

This week's poll shows almost no competition: Coming in second with 11 percent of the vote was Country Brook Montessori School; Norcross Christian Academy & Preschool, Hopewell Christian Academy and Sprouts Child Care each tied for third with 5 percent of the vote; and Jack and Jill Early Learning Center, Norcross Presbyterian Preschool, La Petite Academy, Greater Atlanta Christian Schools and the Goddard School received no votes.
