Police: Employee Wakes Sleeping Co-Worker, Gets Aluminum Pipe to the Head

A Norcross man was so upset that his co-worker had poured water on his head to wake him up that he hit him with a three-foot pipe, according to authorities.

Never sleep on the job. At least, that's what one man should live by.

According to the Lilburn Police report, a Norcross man and another employee were working at the Widenation Recycling Center off Arcado Road when Diax decided to slip away and go to sleep. The co-worker found him and poured a cup of water on the man's head, waking him up.

Angry, the sleepy man kicked the other man in the leg, which caused him to retaliate with a hand to his head.

Both parties separated, but the Norcross man apparently returned moments later with a three-foot aluminum pipe. He struck the other man in the head with it, causing severe bleeding and a three-inch laceration.

The victim was visibly shaken, and he complained that he was dizzy and couldn't stand or walk, so a medical team treated him.

The suspect told police the same story. He was placed under arrest on an aggravated assault charge and hold for immigration.
