Free Citizen Preparation Classes Offered at Norcross Library

Classes at the Norcross branch are scheduled for Oct. 4, 11, 18 and 25.

The Gwinnett County Public Library is offering Citizen Preparation Classes during the month of October at the Norcross and Suwanee branch locations.

The classes are free and open to the public. No pre-registration is required to attend and the courses will be led by a certified instructor. Participants will learn about the history of the United States, government, politics, civics, geography, customs and traditions. The sessions will also include practice interviews and tests.

Participants are welcome to attend one or both branch sessions and attendance at all classes is encouraged but not mandatory. The library will provide students will a pen, paper, guide books and educational materials.

Participants must meet the following criteria to attend a course:

  • Must be 17 years of age or older
  • All courses are conducted in English, beginner English skills are required
  • Must present Permanent Resident (green) card at the first class

Classes at the Norcross location are scheduled on Thursdays from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on the following dates:

  • Oct. 4, 11, 18, 25
  • Nov. 1, 8, 15, 29
  • Dec. 6

Classes at the Suwanee Branch are scheduled for Sundays from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. on the dates listed below:

  • Oct. 7, 14, 21, 28
  • Nov. 4, 18
  • Dec. 2, 9
