But it seems there are just so many eateries there that it's almost overwhelming to figure out which ones are worth dining from. That's why Patch recipe blogger Pam Reich Hopper has given her input on which Buford Highway restaurants are great.

Here are some of her top picks and why she chose them:

Don Pedro Restaurant, 5130 Buford Hwy.: Hopper said this Mexican restaurant is "consistently excellent" and authentic. The $0.99 pork taco is a favorite of hers.

Guadalajara Supermarket & Taqueria, 5730 Buford Hwy.: "Their barbecue whole chicken is the best Latin chicken I have tasted," said Hopper.

La Churreria Bakery & Deli, 5730 Buford Hwy.: This Colombian eatery has superb lunches and breakfasts, according to Hopper. The deli has a great pastry selection for morning food and a variety of fresh juices such as blueberry, mango, maracuya (passion fruit), lulo, strawberry and guanabana. For lunchtime, Hopper likes the mini Bandeka Paisa, which consists of traditional Colombian food: steak, Colombian sausage link, fried pork butt strip, rice, beans, plantains, avocado and fried egg. La Churreria also has an excellent selection of arepas, or corn cakes.

Mi Pilon Dominican Restaurant, 5705 Buford Hwy: Noting that the Ropa Vieja (shredded flank steak) as a top entree choice, Hopper called this Dominican restaurant true "home cooking."

Natarica Grill Venezuelan Restaurant, 5730 Buford Hwy.: "Inexpensive Venezuelan home cooking at its finest!" said Hopper. "Their cachapas [pancakes] are the best and are made from sweet corn. The owner always makes me a chicken salad arepa with avocado (which is not on the menu) topped with their own homemade hot sauce. It is so, so, so good!"

Sabores del Plata Latin Steak House, 6200 Buford Hwy.: This Uruguayan and Argentinian restaurant serves what Hopper called the "best grilled meats around," with the $10 flank steak dish as one of her favorites. Sabores currently has a 50 percent off deal on Scoutmob.
