Walmart Hiring 200 Positions for New Location in Norcross

The new Walmart slated to open in the Norcross area this summer is looking to hire 200 people.

According to store manager Vladimir Mondesir in a news release, the store will be hiring both full- and part-time associates.

“We are excited to add a new Walmart to Norcross and bring good jobs with great career opportunities to the area,” he said.

A temporary hiring center has opened at 4975 Jimmy Carter Blvd., Suite 410, in the same area where the store is currently being built. The majority of new associates will begin work in July to help prepare the store for its grand opening.

Walmart provides a benefits program to eligible full- and part-time associates, the news release continues. For example, it offers a variety of affordable health and well-being benefits including health-care coverage with no lifetime maximum. Walmart also gives eligible associates matching 401(k) contributions of up to 6 percent of pay, discounts on general merchandise, an Associate Stock Purchase Program and company-paid life insurance. Additionally, eligible associates receive a quarterly incentive based on store performance.

Applications will be accepted at the hiring center Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday from 8 am to noon. Interested applicants also can apply online at http://careers.walmart.com.

The new 157,000 square-foot Walmart supercenter will be in the old Green's Corner Shopping Center. The store will feature a garden center, retail space and grocery store.
