Restaurant Week to Bring Exotic Tastes for Less

Sept. 19 to 22 specially priced menus available at Gwinnett eateries.

Like a good tikka masala? How about a touch of tapas? You are in luck Sept. 19 through 22, since its Gwinnett International Restaurant Week. Twenty restaurants across the county will be offering special three-course meals for $21.21 plus tax and gratuity.

“The large majority of our restaurants are independent restaurants, and we’ve worked very hard this year to expand the ethnic opportunities to diners,” said Lisa Anders, deputy director of the Gwinnett Convention and Visitors Bureau, which organizes the event, in a release.

You can take a culinary trip around the world during the week: At Iname Moroccan Restaurant in Duluth, diners can try a succulent tagine. In Lawrenceville, Athens Kouzzina will serve up fresh Greek flavors, like moussaka and baklava. At Kurt's Euro Bistro, have a classic wienerschnitzel and strusel for dessert.

More familiar American staples will also be on offer. At Local Republic, the new gastropub in the Lawrenceville Square, you can have baked brie for two, roasted chicken on a mushroom risotto and homemade ice cream. At Aqua Terra Bistro in Buford, you can opt for a French country salad, barbequed pork tenderloin and crème brulee to cap off the meal.
