Norcross Chalk Paint Store to Move to Skin Alley

Chalk It Up Norcross plans to make the move downtown in May.

After moving from The Nest on College Street and into The Purple Poppy on Jones Street, Chalk It Up Norcross is moving a third time in downtown Norcross.

The chalk paint store will unveil its new space on Skin Alley on May 1. Specifically, it'll be relocating to 51 S. Peachtree St. in Suite 5, where Terra Dog Bakery had been and the Atlanta Idea Studio is currently located.

Owner Lynn White explains that she's moving again because she needs a bigger venue for her inventory and workshops. The new storefront will give her 1,100 square feet of space, which is double the 550 square feet Chalk It Up has right now.

"I'm excited about getting my own space so I can do my own thing completely," said White.

She will gain access to the Skin Alley shop April 21 so that she can begin painting and decorating for its soft opening in May. White wants to give the new store a Parisian look, she said.

"I think people are going to be pretty shocked at the transformation of the building back there," she added.

The suite's current tenant, the Atlanta Idea Studio, plans to move to another location in downtown Norcross, but those plans have not been finalized yet.

Chalk It Up Norcross is an art shop that specializes in chalk paint, a heavily pigmented acrylic paint that can stick to virtually anything and doesn't need a base coat. In addition to offering workshops, White also does custom work for clients.
