Iron Horse Offers Irishman Whiskey Tasting

The tavern in historic downtown will offer tastings on four different whiskeys and food pairings.

For those of us who just can't wait for St. Patrick's Day festivities, may have the event to keep them satisfied until the 17th.

Continuing its new tasting series this year, the tavern is holding a whiskey affair scheduled for this Monday, March 5. Guests can sample four authentic whiskeys from the Irishman Whiskey Company, which distills and blend their products in (you guessed it) Ireland.

The products available for samples include the Original Clan Whiskey Blend, the Single Malt, the Irish Cream and the Hot Irish Coffee.

Similar to the last tasting event from early February, Chef Clinton Pritchard of the Dunwoody Restaurant Group has worked on a special four-course meal to go with the whiskeys at Iron Horse.

To start, a smoked salmon mousse on a sweet bread crostini and a citrus dill aioli will be served as the first course, said Pritchard. The main course will be a lamb lollipop over wild mushroom risotto with a whiskey black peppercorn sauce. Next is dessert, which will be a rich, dark chocolate bread pudding served with a homemade Irish cream sorbet. Lastly, patrons can finish off the night with a traditional Irish coffee.

Donal O'Gallachoir from the Irishman Whiskey Company will be at the event as a guest speaker and whiskey connoisseur.

The Irishman Whiskey Company tasting event will be held Monday, March 5, at 7 p.m. at Iron Horse Tavern in Historic Downtown Norcross. Tickets are $25 and will be available at the door, but reservations are preferred. Call 678-291-9220 to reserve your spot.
