How would you improve the congestion at Jimmy Carter Boulevard and Buford Highway intersection in Norcross?
Hold that thought, because the Gwinnett Village CID is hosting an open house Thursday for locals to give input and learn about its planned improvements for the intersection.
Currently, the community improvement district is leaning toward building a Continuous Flow Intersection at Jimmy Carter and Buford. It would be an at-grade intersection as opposed to grade separation, and left turns would happen in advance of the intersection, allowing for multiple movements to take place simultaneously.
The CFI also would eliminate a signal phase at the intersection, which would increase efficiency and capacity, according to the CID.
"This innovative and cost-effective design can relieve congestion for travelers, increase safety for pedestrians and increase access to local businesses at this gateway intersection," said the CID in a statement.

The open house will take place Thursday, Nov. 15, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Gwinnett Village CID offices, located at 5855 Jimmy Carter Blvd., Suite 122, in Norcross.
