Gwinnett Village CID Executive Director Chuck Warbington has been named a 2012 Rising Star by CE News.
Warbington is among the 15 civil engineering professionals in the country to be recognized by CE News, a national trade publication for engineering professionals.
According to a press release, the Rising Star award program was created to recognize civil engineering professionals for their exceptional technical capability, leadership, effective teaching or research, or public service benefitting the civil engineering profession.
"Chuck's leadership in leveraging local cooperation and funds to obtain significant federal support for infrastructure is outstanding," said Bob Drake, editor of CE News. "In addition, his involvement in planning activities and a drive for sustainable development is helping shape the community's future."
As executive director for the Gwinnett Village CID for six years, Warbington oversees initiatives aimed to revitalizing the southwest portion of Gwinnett County.
"I couldn't be prouder of the work that we've done at the CID," said Warbington in the press release. "The recognition from a group of my peers is truly an honor, but I think the real success story here is about an entire community; commercial property owners, business owners, residents and local policy makers, working toward a shared vision of what their community could be. I'm just happy to be a part of that process."
