Digital Display Company Expands in Norcross Area, Bringing 175 Jobs

The local company plans to move its global headquarters to a new facility, still in its home turf in Gwinnett.

The Gwinnett Chamber announced yesterday that NanoLumens, a manufacturer and marketer of digital displays, plans to open a new, expanded headquarters in Norcross, which has been the company’s home since 2006.

The move to the new 32,000-square foot facility is expected to take place on Dec. 1, 2011. Over the next two years, 175 jobs will be added to the local market, according to a Chamber release. The new digs are at 4900 Avalon Ridge Parkway in an unincorporated area of Norcross, which may soon become part of Peachtree Corners, if the cityhood measure passes.

The Gwinnett Chamber Economic Development Department and the Georgia Department of Economic Development courted the company to stay in the area.

Currently NanoLumens is housed in a 14,000 square foot space in Peachtree Corners off Engineering Drive. The company cited rapid growth as the reason for the move. “Our company has more than doubled in size over the last two years and we expect 2012, our first full year of commercial production, to create an even faster rate of growth,” said NanoLumens President & CEO Rick Cope in the release.

The administrative, sales, operations, research, design and assembly staff will all be located at the new facility, along with a digital display showroom that the company says will be the largest in the world.
