Starting the weekend a bit early, head to the for . Reeves is a Georgia gardener who will be discussing how to prepare lawns and gardens for the fall and winter time in order to have the best landscape for spring.

John Steinbeck is coming to town! Well, sort of. His classic story will be coming to this Friday, Sept. 14. For those unfamiliar with the tale, the plots covers life journey of two drifters, George and his friend Lennie, with delusions of living off the "fat of the land."

The show runs from Sept. 14-30, with Friday and Saturday shows at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday’s show at 2 p.m. Admission ranges from $12-$15. for details and more ticket information.

Also on Friday, is hosting the , an evening filled with music, auctions, kids activities, and of course--food. Twelve restaurants, including Mama Mia's, Riverside Pizza, and Olive's Oven and Grill will be serving up delicious eats at the event. Tickets are $10 and are worth five tastings and one soft drink, and the funds will go toward the church's Guatemala mission team to go to the country and help malnurished children. For a calmer setting, make sure to head out to the low-key entertainment provided by and . Alejandro, a spanish-influenced musician with rock and acoustic sounds, will be performing at 45 South around 7:30 p.m. Friday, and jazz quartet Night Flight will take the stage at the same time Saturday. At Iron Horse, Bad House Tears will perform Friday around 9:30 p.m., and the bar's Saturday Night Karaoke will start at 10 p.m.
