The Norcross Weekend Planner

Get a Taste of Norcross High this Friday and check out the world in Saturday's Gateway International Festival.

Halloween may have just ended, but more excitement and activities await this weekend.

On Friday, make sure to starve yourself for the day because it's time to stuff your face at the annual Taste of Norcross High. Lots of tasty restaurants such as Baba's Gyros, J. Alexander's, Shane's Rib Shack, Dominick's and Bleu House Cafe will offer samples from their menus, and local businesses will have items for sale in a  silent auction. With the mayors from Norcross and Peachtree Corners as tasting judges, it's sure to be an amazing event. Tickets are $15 (proceeds will go to the school's athletics and activities) and can be purchased here. The event takes place at 6 p.m. at Norcross High School.

The Nest also is having an opening reception for ARTDAWGS: Fine Art by UGA Alumni. Stop by from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. for the artwork, artists, bites and drinks, and good company.

Saturday's a big day of celebrating different cultures with the second annual Gateway International Food and Music Festival. Head to Lillian Webb Park for a world of eats, tunes, dancing, kids' activities, and arts and crafts. Hosted by the city and the Gwinnett Village Community Alliance, the event will be held from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Later that day, Norcross First United Methodist Church is having its Family Fall Festival with inflatables, crafts and food. Photo ops and a fall and football tailgaters alley will be available, too. The fun starts at 5 p.m. and runs until 8 p.m.
