There's no big city event this weekend, but check out the million other things happening in Norcross.
On Friday, Kudzu Art Zone is having an opening reception for its new exhibit and its last show of 2012, "Exploring the Creative Path." From 7 p.m. to 9 p.m., grab some drinks and finger foods while taking in work by artists who express their individual paths to inspiration.
Then on Saturday at 7:30 p.m., the North Atlanta Trade Center is hosting an evening of Atlanta Midget Wrestling. Bridging the "gap between comedy and serious sports entertainment," the show is all-new and features the Russian Princess and four top-notch wrestlers in action. The event is open to children and families. Tickets are $20, and for more information, check out atlantamidgetwrestling.com.
If you're looking for something more on the traditional side of family fun, check out the Fall Family Fun Fest at the Robert D. Fowler YMCA in nearby Peachtree Corners. From 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, the annual event will have obstacle courses, games, a cupcake walk, a toasting smores station and more. Read the Patch article for more details.
The Give Us Hope and Teen Center at Hopewell Baptist Church is having its annual Ol Skool Vs. New Skool Basketball Fellowship on Saturday from noon to 5 p.m. At $5 to play, there will be a slam dunk contest, a hot shot contest, three-point shootouts and a basketball relay for different age groups ranging from six years to adults.
Also at Hopewell that day from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. is an event introducing HomeSafe Georgia, which helps with those facing foreclosures and those struggling to pay their mortgages. For more details, visit homesafegeorgia.com.
