Onion Man's Summer Harvest Show Starts Thursday

Onion Man Productions presents its Summer Harvest 2012 show starting this Thursday, June 14, at Norcross' .

The Summer Harvest show is a collection of 10-minute plays starring 30 actors, nine local playwrights and eight directors.

"Thanks to their creative efforts, a whole new world will open up and come to life!" said James Beck, the managing director of Onion Man. "It is a great opportunity to come celebrate a ton of local talent!"

This year's artistic director is Daniel Carter Brown, a playwright, actor and director who started his career in Chicago, according to Onion Man. He's worked with Onion Man Productions since his play "The Powell Plot" appeared in Summer Harvest 2010. He is also the co-founder and artistic director of Give Us Brains! Sketch Comedy.

A bonus for this year: There will be "Extra Nights" where the shows are free for anyone to attend. These evenings include:

• Monday, June 18: OMP Student Night - Readings of plays from Onion Man students
• Tuesday, June 19: Open Mic Night (without the mic)
• Wednesday, June 20: Sketch and Improv Night

Summer Harvest 2012 runs from Thursday, June 14, through Sunday, June 24, at the Lionheart Theatre Company, located at 10 College St. in downtown Norcross. The shows are Thursdays through Saturdays at 7:30 p.m. and Sundays at 3 p.m.
