Norcross Weekend Planner: Easter Egg Hunt, Spring Cleaning and Butterflies

Check out what's going on in Norcross this weekend.

Norcross may not have a whole lot happening on Friday and Sunday, but its Saturday is jam packed.

To kick off the morning, the city's annual Easter Egg Hunt will commence promptly at 10 a.m. in Rossie Brundage Park. Grab the kids and get there at least a few minutes before it starts, though; the hunt only lasts for what seems like seconds, so you don't want to miss it. Afterward, stick around for a photo session with the Easter bunny at a discounted price. Check out the price list here.

At 4 p.m., watch the unveiling of the city's new Butterfly Garden in Thrasher Park. Girl Scout Troop 164, who created the garden, and Mayor Bucky Johnson will be there to introduce it. The garden is dedicated to a 6-year-old girl who died last year after battling mitochondrial disease. Read more of the story here.

For the whole day Saturday, get some of your spring cleaning out the way so that you can enjoy better weather later (once it gets warmer, anyway) with the biannual Norcross Recycle and Clean Up Day. Get rid of unwanted paper, electronics and general trash at different stations around town, and don't forget to donate canned goods for the 2013 CAN Do for Hunger Campaign. Check out the full details here.
