Norcross Weekend Planner: Arts Party, Harvest Market and More

Get into the holiday spirit with some shopping at The Little Red Barn Sale, Norcross' Farmers Harvest Market and Christmas Wish Listing. Downtown's Third Thursday Arts Party also is happening with a night filled with films.

Updated, 2:26 p.m.

It's well into November, and with that comes the holidays and seasonal events.

Before all the holiday sparkle, though, is this month's Third Thursday Arts Party. Starting at 6:30 p.m. Nov. 15, Kudzu Art Zone, The Nest, and Vargas & Harbin Studio Gallery are hosting an evening of short film screenings ranging from 3 minutes to 30 minutes. Watch the films made by local videographers, producers and directors, and meet them, too. Hop on the Norcross Art Cart to switch from downtown venues, and make sure to grab a Norcross Art Cup for drinking along the way.

On Friday, the undefeated Norcross High Blue Devils are headed to their first game in the football playoffs. They're playing a home game against the Chattahoochee Cougars at 7:30 p.m., and tickets are $10.

Jump into the holiday spirit with the Norcross Farmers Harvest Market and Christmas Wish Listing. Get ready for some locally-made fresh breads, cakes, meats and jellies at the market in Thrasher Park. The market will go on twice this season, once in December and the other this Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

For the Christmas Wish Listing, visit downtown shops from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and create a wish list of all the items you want for the holidays. The city of Norcross will then send the list to your favorite "Santa." For a list of downtown shops and more information, check it out on aplacetoimagine.com.

Also on Saturday is the biannual Little Red Barn Sale on North Peachtree Street. Handmade jewelry, refinished furniture, wreaths, home furnishings and art work will be available from local and faraway artists. The sale is from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at 473 N. Peachtree Street, so be sure to get there before all the one-of-a-kind pieces are gone. For more information, check out The Little Red Barn's blog.

Editor's Note: The NBA 2-Ball Competition at Best Friend Park has been cancelled due to low enrollment.
