New Show and Classes Kick Off the Year at Kudzu

A show and a new line of classes start the new year at Kudzu Art Zone in downtown Norcross.

The show “Song in My Heart” is timed right for Valentine’s Day. You can get a first peek on Friday, Feb. 3 or attend on opening reception on Feb. 10, both from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. 

The show, which will run through April 28, features works inspired by members’ “dreams and imaginations,” according to a statement from the gallery. The artwork will be in a variety of mediums—but all works will get to the heart of the artist and her muses. 

Also, portrait artist Connie Lynn Reilly is holding a new series of classes at the gallery. The awar- winning artist has collections all over the world, according to the release, and has even painted a portrait of the Royal family of Bahrain. The “Color Harmony II” and Portrait and Figure courses continue through March.

Lynn Weisbach's "Collaging With Collage"
This workshop will teach old techniques, add a few new ones and make new collages that are fun to make and interesting.

Lala Streett "Artist's Choice" Spring Class
The goal of this class is to inspire, instruct and guide artists to the joy and fun of creating, with the personal goals of each artist in mind. Lala will give individual as well as class instructions and demonstrations.
Wednesdays, 3/7 – 5/16, 10:30 a.m. – 1 p.m.

Judy Greenberg's Spring Watercolor Class
This four-week Friday class is dedicated to stretching your mind and understanding that shapes and color make up both a realistic or abstract painting. 
Fridays, 3/9 – 3/30, 9:30 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.

Connie Reilly's Spring Portrait and Figure Course
Ongoing eight-week class with oils and pastels.
Mondays, 3/12 – 5/14, 10 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.

Don Andrew’s "Color Emphasis Landscape" Workshop 
A nationally acclaimed artist who enjoys teaching students at all levels. All will benefit with the workshop exploration into color, design, organization and light and their utilization in the exciting world of landscape painting.
