Kudzu Art Zone Hosting First Juried Art Exhibit

The "OPEN" exhibit runs June 14 - July 27. Works were chosen from those submitted by 70 artists.

Kudzu Art Zone is accomplishing a much-anticipated first this week.

Beginning June 14, the art center will host its inagural juried art exhibit, entitled "Open." The was open to all Georgia artists. More than 70 artists submitted 170 works art to be judged.

Larry Walker, a professor of emeritus at Georgia State University, was the judge. Walker also sits on the board of the Museum of Contemporary Art of Georgia.

"He had a challenging task," Kudzu Art Zone stated on its website. "He selected a variety of works for the exhibit, resulting in an excellent show well worth viewing."

The juried exhibit's opening reception and awards presentation is 6 p.m. - 9 p.m., June 21.

The exhibit runs June 14 - July 27.  Gallery hours are 11 a.m. - 4 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays. The address is 116 Carlyle Street in Norcross.
