Update: Filming for TV Pilot Delayed in Norcross

A production company is shooting a television show pilot for ABC in the downtown area later this month. The filming was originally scheduled for this week.

Updated, 10:10 a.m.

The filming for a TV show pilot in downtown Norcross was supposed to start Wednesday, but it turns out crews only have started prepping the home for shooting. (More details can be found here.) The actual filming will take place later this month.

FTP Productions will film the first episode for a supernatural drama called "The Returned" for three days in March. The show follows a child who went missing 30 years ago and landed in a small village in China, according to the Norcross permit application for the shooting. "He is 'returned' to his small mid-America town having not aged at all," continues the description.

The Hollywood Reporter reports that "Covert Affairs" actress Devin Kelley and Matt Craven of "NCIS," "X-Men: First Class" and "Justified" will star in the pilot.

Crews will take over the Pafford home at 566 N. Peachtree St. for filming, but filmmakers also plan to capture some downtown businesses, street traffic and neighbors surrounding the home.

As noted in the special called meeting last week with the Norcross City Council, the schedule for production will take place during the day, with the exception of one night scene. Production is not expected to take place after 7 p.m. the first two days of shooting and 9 p.m. the third day.

If the TV pilot is picked up by ABC, there is the possibility that the show will come back to film in Norcross, but that would be determined at a later date.

"The Returned" is based on a novel by Jason Mott and penned by Aaron Zelman of "Criminal Minds," according to the Hollywood Reporter. Brillstein Entertainment and Brad Pitt's Plan B have been listed as part of the executive production team. The city application indicates that Charles McDougall, who's directed episodes for "The Office" and "Sex and the City," will direct the pilot.
