Do You Yarn Bomb?

Spaces for this Saturday's extraordinary workshop are still available for knitting and crocheting.

Yarn bombing--a street art that employs colorful displays of knitted or crocheted items--is coming to town March 31, and the Nest and Home Norcross are offering free workshops to kickstart the event.

Beginners can learn how to yarn bomb through crocheting and knitting at two workshops: One will take place this Saturday, Feb. 18, at Home Norcross, one of downtown's newest retailers, and the Nest at 17 College Street will be hosting the second class March 17. Both classes are from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., with light refreshments available.

Participants in the classes will be completing yarn bomb projects to be displayed during the city's "Spring Into Yarn" event March 31. Whether its on a lamp post, bike rack or utility pole the artist chooses, everyone's work will be displayed downtown throughout the entire month of April.
