The Anti-Valentine's Day Survival Guide

Don't dispair being single today--celebrate instead.

All those lovey-dovey Valentines are great at planning ahead. But what about the single people? Notorious procrastinators. Here's our Anti-Valentine's Day plan:

Hit the bar. Avoid the lovers downtown at Barnacle’s. The specials of the night will be two entrées for $20 and 35-cent wings. There’s no need to be half of a couple, however,to split the cost with a friend.

Entrees include rib-eye steak, stuffed grouper or crab legs and a bar that really does offer something for everyone. The upbeat background music will set the tone for the evening as you play a few games of pool and knock back a couple of after-dinner cocktails with your friends.

The Heartbeat Matchmaker is hosting a singles “Mix & Mingle” event at East Andrews in Buckhead from 7 p.m. until 10:30 p.m. It costs $40  and you get to schmooze with special guests of the night, Gwen Gioia, from “The Bachelor,” and “Bachelor Pad” and Graham Bunn, from “The Bachelorette.”

Host a movie night for your friends, and don’t forget the wine and snacks. In keeping with the anti-Valentine theme, go for horror movies. You might want to try, “Dawn of the Dead,” “Session Nine,” “Susperia," or any Rob Zombie flick.

If you have time, make anti-Valentine themed cookies or cupcakes.

Use black food coloring, this can be made by combining equal portions of blue, yellow and red, then write love stinks in red icing. If you're feeling adventurous try making bleeding heart cupcakes or take the easy route and buy heart-shaped cookies and break them in half.

Pamper yourself at the , a 24-hour Korean spa located at 6005 Buford Highway. For $20, you can use the all the facilities, including a steam room, dry sauna, hot tub, cold tub and hot rooms. The walls of each hot room have a mineral such as jade or salt built into them. Each room is designed to remove specific toxins from your body as you relax and sweat.

Do something nice for someone else. Valentine’s Day is about spreading love. You could donate money to charity or or just buy a box of chocolates or present for a friend.

Harmony Grove United Methodist in Lilburn will be hosting a , starting at 3 p.m. today... Hey, at least you'll be giving something red.
