Special School Supply Drive at Whistle Stop Today

Bring some supplies, get some fresh, local produce.

Today, you can trade pencils for peaches at the Farmers Market--literally.

The city is asking that farmers market patrons bring in supplies for donation. In exchange they'll offer you $5 worth of treats from your favorite market vendor.

The suggested list includes ruled notebook paper, No. 2 pencils, composition books, book bags and folders with brads and pockets.

Last year, the Nocross Co-op donated school supplies for about 800 students. This year they need even more supplies, according to a notice put out by the city.

The Whistle Stop market occurs every Tuesday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Thrasher Park in Historic Norcross.
