Sign up for Summer Camps at Fowler YMCA

Did you know that every year 10 million American kids attend summer camps? It's not too late to sign your child up for some summer fun at the local Y.

Summer camp has been a U.S. tradition for almost 130 years. Back then, before air conditioning, hot city summers were miserable, so escaping to the country for a few weeks became a popular trend.

Today, kids have different reasons for making camp a part of their lives. At camp kids take a break from TV, cell phones and Internet and reconnect with nature; they learn to be safe around water and develop lifelong swimming skills; improve athletic, artistic and intellectual skills; make new friends and develop social skills; and campers spend their day being active and having lots of summer fun!

This month, Fowler YMCA will be holding Open House at each of its three summer camp locations. Parents can meet the staff, tour the camp and discovery why Fowler Y’s Camp was voted ‘Best Day Camp of 2012’ by readers of Inside Gwinnett!
